Fluffy Waffles for the freezer .. Based on Becky's Whole Wheat Fluffy Waffles

 

Fluffy Waffles




Ingredients

  • 4 cups (260gwhole wheat flour (spoon & leveled)
  • 6 teaspoons (1 Tbspbaking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 12 Tablespoons (85gunsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 4 Tablespoons brown sugar*
  • 3 and 1/4 cup (420ml) buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon star anise extract
  • Directions:
  • Pre-heat your waffle iron to medium-high heat
  • Whisk together all dry ingredeints
  • Blend together all all wet ingredients.
  • Slowly add the wet ingredients to your bowl of dry ingredients mixing well
  • Once all dry and wet ingredients are well blended, spin 1/3 c batter at a time into waffle maker.
  • DO NOT OVER FILL or it WILL overflow
  • Allow to cook for 3-5 or until you "Ready" light turnes on.
  • Be very careful removing cooked hot waffles with a fork or tongs and serve OR place on a cooling rack until fully cooled (If freezing)
  • If freezing, make sure cooked waffles are completely cooled. Place a piece of wax or parchment paper between each waffle then wrap with more waxed paper and then place in a gallon ziplock back and remove ALL air before closing bag completely and placing in freezer.
